Katrina Ridout

Katrina has always had a passion for health and fitness, and first earned her Bachelor of Health Science (Honours) (Nutrition and Dietetics) at Queensland University of Technology in 2007. After having three children of her own, she completed a post graduate degree in research in the field of prenatal nutrition (nutrition throughout pregnancy).

Over the past 17 years, Katrina has worked as an Accredited Practicing Dietitian (APD) in private practice and high-level research, and has completed training in Advanced Paediatric Nutrition, Nutrition for Fertility, Nutrition through Pregnancy, HAES (Health at Every Size), the non-diet approach, the SOS approach to feeding fussy eaters, and motivational interviewing counselling.

Katrina has a wealth of experience in treating a range of clinical conditions for both adults and children and has a particular interest in women’s health and nutrition throughout the pregnancy journey (fertility, pre-conception, prenatal and post-pregnancy periods), chronic health conditions (diabetes, weight management, cardiovascular disease), food allergies and intolerances and fussy eating.

Having three young children of her own, and juggling work, study and family commitments, Katrina understands that having a healthy diet is not always easy to achieve especially when there are health conditions at play. Katrina is privileged and honoured to share her knowledge and experience with adults, families, and kids at all stages of life. She aims to provide patients with education, tools and practical skills to meet their nutritional requirements while fitting into their lifestyle and family needs.

Importantly, Katrina authentically cares for the health and well-being of her patients and strives to build a positive relationship based on trust, respect, empathy, compassion, and encouragement with the people in her care.
